Being displaced from one’s natural and traditional birth place is a huge misfortune. However, in this most unfortunate turn of event, fortune beams on these people from the good will of other well-meaning Nigerians, the efforts of Governments and Non-governmental organizations.

No doubt, they deserve more from security to shelter, from education to feeding and other benefits accorded as a citizen.

Here is Mrs. Tina, one of the many displaced people from Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State. After 3 years in the camp, she has been empowered to start a catering business. Presently, she cooks and sells locally made meal (Fufu) to neighboring communities.

Though this is barely enough to sustain her and other women daily, she remains very grateful that she is engaged while hopeful for better livelihood.
