Away from our report which documented the challenges faced by the Ilaje Bariga woman, Knowledge Aid Initiative tries to BETTER understand the challenges faced by women living in the underserved community of Ilaje,Bariga, Lagos state and proffer an outstanding solution to the challenges.

On the 18th, December 2017, Knowledge Aid Initiative launched her project Onebarigawoman which is devised towards combating the challenges of Ilaje Bariga woman.

Onebarigawoman is a community development project of Knowledge Aid Initiative which is aimed at giving startup capital to women in Ilaje Bariga in order to start /expand their profit-making ventures. Knowledge Aid Initiativebelieves women need financial support to provide quality healthcare and education for their children and with this intervention women will be better positioned to support their families.

15 women who have undergone the business management training hosted by Knowledge Aid Initiative got startup funds with about 75 other trained women on the organization’s waiting list.

Present at the event were Sterling Bank Plc, Save the Children UK, The Makoko DREAM, Channels Television, Ben TV London, The Guardian Newspaper and lots more.
